In the recent years cell phones have become more common and affordable to the masses. As more and more people have access to their cell phones companies have begun trying to get more and more features and applications on the phone. The main advancement in this field has come in the form of the iPhone from Apple Inc.
The iPhone acts as a cell phone, mp3 player, digital camera, and an overall web browser. The entire front side of the phone is a 3.5 inch high resolution LCD screen. Everything on the phone is accessed using the fingerprint resistant scratch resistant glass touch screen. The display responds to bare finger touch as well as other functions. A proximity sensor will dim the display to save power when the phone is moved close to your face during a phone call. The screen also responds to being shaken or turned sideways to adjust for both portrait and landscape layouts.
The phone is available with 8 GB and 16 GB storage sizes. It uses its own original operating system designed specifically for the iPhone. Many third party developers have begun supporting the iPhone with games and applications as well. The internet connectivity is used through Wi-Fi automatic support when available and can support a 1.4mb per second download speed for files smaller than 10mb.
This is just one example of how technology has managed to constantly evolve. It has taken 4 separate devices that are still new inventions that weren’t available 10 years ago and combined them into one device.
